Great Bridge CARE, a textile restoration company based in Chesapeake, announces the building of a new environmentally friendly production plant in Chesapeake, VA.

Located in Oakbrooke Business and Technology Center, (a city owned planned business community in Chesapeake, VA) the new plant will have over 17,000 SF of space for corporate offices, storage and production CARE is widely recognized as the leading textile restoration company in the area offering competitive pricing, quality cleaning and impeccable customer care. CARE is a preferred vendor for several insurance carriers in the markets they serve.

“We are excited about the new location and the opportunity to work with the city of Chesapeake on this project”, said Richard M. Jamin, Owner and CEO of CARE. The plant will take technologies from a variety of areas to improve energy efficiencies and create a model to follow for other textile cleaning operations. Already one step ahead of the curve, CARE utilizes GREEN hydro-carbon processing for their dry cleaning needs and natural gas for their heat requirements.

The new plant will include high efficiency boilers, rain water retention tanks for landscaping irrigation and specialty lighting throughout the facility, all designed to improve energy consumption while being environmentally friendly. “No stone will go uncovered in our effort to create the model plant, we want to be good neighbors and stewards of the environment” said Jamin.

Jamin also expressed satisfaction with the business climate and the company’s ability to attract favorable terms with the city planners and local bank, Heritage of VA. “The economics are very favorable for this type of project” said Jamin. He was also quoted as saying that “low interest rates and the city’s desire to attract new businesses to the area contributed to the decision to build the facility”.

CL Pincus was chosen as the construction firm and will begin ground breaking in early March. The firm has an estimated December, 2012 completion date. “We are thrilled to be the contractor of choice for this exciting project and have several key vendors lined up to introduce new technologies in the reduction of energy consumption”, said Stephen Pincus, Vice President of Operations for the firm.

“We’re pleased that Chesapeake’s favorable pro-business climate, location and available land in Oakbrooke Business and Technology Center has led to a decision to construct CARE’s new headquarters in our City,” said Steven C. Wright, Director, Chesapeake Economic Development. “We look forward to the ground breaking ceremony in March and ultimately cutting the ribbon on their new building.”
